KELVIN HUYNH | 4th YEAR | FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND EAST ASIAN STUDIES
MEET THE VICE CHAIR OF OUTREACH
Hello! My name is Kelvin Huynh and I am a fourth year from Gainesville, Virginia majoring in Foreign Affairs and East Asian Studies with a minor in Anthropology. In my free time, I love reading young adult, fantasy, or romance-related novels, playing video games, snacking, napping, and spending time with friends and family!
WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN UPC?
As Vice Chair of Outreach, I oversee UPC’s co-sponsorship process and external relations. Additionally, I assist with UPC Recruitment and plan Culturefest, a large annual event, dedicated to showcasing the cultures of a large array of multicultural organizations, clubs, and groups at the University through performances, informational booths, and food! My primary goal is to inform CIOs and other groups on Grounds that UPC is always a resource for them to rely on!
WHAT DOES UPC MEAN TO YOU?
To me, UPC is an organization that allows me to express my creative thinking by planning events. UPC has a multitude of fantastic resources that allows its members to think and work freely, and putting on such events and seeing attendees enjoy an event you planned is the best type of feeling! Most importantly, UPC is a community that I can always fall back on – meeting people from different communities and working collaboratively has been an amazing experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
WHAT’S A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?
I have family in fifteen U.S. states and four continents!
WHAT’S SOMETHING WEIRD ABOUT YOU?
I love it when people use multiple exclamation points, but I hate it when people use multiple question marks.
